President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated healthcare workers on the occasion of Medical Workers’ Day. The President’s press service reported the news.

“In this blessed season, I sincerely congratulate you, the guardians of our people’s health, on your professional holiday widely celebrated in our country — Medical Workers’ Day. Please accept my deepest respect and best wishes to each of you,” the congratulatory message reads.

According to the press service, the maternal mortality rate has decreased from 21 to 11 per 100,000 live births since 2017, while infant mortality has fallen from 11.5 to 7.8 per 1,000 live births. The message also noted that over 400 high-tech medical services, which were previously available only in the capital, are now provided in regional and district medical facilities.

In his message, President Mirziyoyev expressed confidence in healthcare professionals to elevate the sector to a new level through their skills and dedication, continue Uzbekistan’s long-standing medical traditions, and adopt advanced global medical practices.

He emphasized that ensuring due recognition of healthcare workers’ service and creating favorable working conditions for them remain among the top priorities of the government and society.

“Once again, I congratulate you on your professional holiday and wish you good health, great success in your work, family happiness, and peace and prosperity in your homes,” the message concludes.
