Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan sign key agreements to deepen strategic ties

On July 2, following negotiations held in Baku, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev adopted the resolution of the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.

A number of bilateral documents were exchanged in the presence of both heads of state, including:

  •  A "Roadmap" for the implementation of the Treaty on Allied Relations for 2025–2029;
  •  An Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection;
  •  An Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation in the Fields of Science, Professions, and Higher Education;
  •  An Industrial Cooperation Program for 2025–2026;
  •  A Program to Increase Bilateral Trade Turnover to \$1 Billion by 2030;
  •  A Practical Action Plan for Developing Cooperation in Agriculture and Food Supply for 2025–2027;
  •  A Plan of Measures for Cooperation in the Field of Social Protection for 2025–2027;
  •  A Protocol on Cooperation in the Fields of Shipping and Shipbuilding;
  •  Agreements on establishing fraternal relations between the Tashkent region and the city of Sumgait, and between Navoi and Gabala.
