About 30 trees along the M-39 highway passing through the Gallaorol district of Jizzakh region were cut down by unknown persons. The Jizzakh Regional Department of the Ecology Committee provided information about this.
It was reported that on the night from 25 October to 26 October of this year, unknown persons cut down 26 elm and apricot trees from this area belonging to the Forestry Department.
Preliminary documents regarding the situation were prepared and submitted to the Internal Affairs Department of the Gallaorol district.
"Currently, investigations are being conducted to identify those who cut down the trees and to make a legal assessment of the situation, until the investigation," the regional ecology department said.
