Fuel fraud: 1.4 billion Sum worth of natural gas illicitly extracted in Zangiota

During control measures aimed at uncovering the illegal use of fuel-energy resources, authorities identified a gas filling station for vehicles that had illicitly obtained natural gas valued at 1.4 billion sum. This information was released by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the report, U.Kh., the head of “P.G.O.” LLC located in the Zangiota district of the Toshkent region, manipulated the gas metering equipment at the gas filling station by exerting external influence. Through this fraudulent act, he managed to steal natural gas worth 1.4 billion sum.

Following this incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 169, Part 4, Clause “a” of the Criminal Code. During the preliminary investigation, it was ensured that the full amount of the damage inflicted on the company was recovered.

It is worth noting that a similar case of illegal natural gas usage had previously been uncovered in Khorezm, where a gas filling station was recorded to have illegally used natural gas valued at 3,048,000,000 sum.
