Uzhydromet issues urgent warning

On February 5, strong winds are expected in some regions of Uzbekistan, according to an urgent warning issued by Uzhydromet.

It is reported that during the daytime, wind speeds may increase to 13–18 m/s in certain areas of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as the Khorezm, Bukhara, Navoi, Tashkent, Samarkand, Jizzakh, Syrdarya, Kashkadarya, and Surkhandarya regions. In some places, gusts may reach 20–22 m/s and could be accompanied by dust storms.

In the capital, wind speeds are expected to strengthen to 12–14 m/s.

It is worth noting that earlier Uzhydromet warned of a risk of avalanches in the country’s mountainous areas due to expected precipitation and changes in air temperature from February 5 to 9.
