50280On 23-27 June of the current year, intensive precipitation is expected in some parts of Uzbekistan which may cause extreme floods and inundation. This is reported by the Center of Hydrometeorological Service of Uzbekistan.
According to the reports, in connection with the expected heavy rains on 23-27 June, in the foothills and mountainous areas of the republic, including:
Kashkadarya region (oblast): Yakkabag, Dekhkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, Kamashi, Guzar, Koson districts;
Surkhandarya region: Sariosia, Uzun, Altynsay, Denau, Boysun, Sherabad, Shurchi, Kumkurgan, Muzrabat districts;
Samarkand region: in Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurabad, Koshrabat, Kattakurgan, Payarik, Jambay, Ishtikhon districts;
Navoi region: Khatyrchi, Navbakhor, Nurata, Konimekh, Karmana districts;
Jizzakh region: Zaamin, Bakhmal, Gallaaral, Sharof-Rashidov, Forish, Yangiabad districts;
Tashkent region: Akhangaron, Bustanlyk, Parkent, Pskent, Orta-Chirchik, Yukori-Chirchik districts, and in the cities of Angren and Almalyk;
Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, Yangikurgan districts;
Fergana region: Sokh, Fergana, Besharyk districts;
Andijan region: Floods are possible in Andijan, Asaka, Jalal-Abad, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izbaskan, Khojaabad, Marhamat, and Khanabad districts.
Uzgidromet (Center of Hydrometeorological Service of Uzbekistan) called on citizens living in mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling to the mountainous areas to take precautions.
