Uzhydromet Issues Urgent Warning to Residents of 9 Regions

40966Residents of nine regions of Uzbekistan have been issued a warning about potential floods due to anticipated rainfall from the 24th to 26th of May. The announcement was made by Sherzodhoja Habibullayev, the general director of Uzhydromet.
According to the report, the following mountainous areas within the country and along the borders of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are at risk of flooding:
• In Yakkabog, Dehkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shahrisabz, Qamashi, Guzor districts of Kashkadarya region;
• In Sariosia, Uzun, Altinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherabad, Shorchi, Kumkurgan, Muzrobot districts of Surkhandarya region;
• In the districts of Urgut, Samarkand, Bulung’ur, Nurabad, Koshrabot, Kattakurgan, Payariq, Jomboy, Ishtikhon, Samarkand region;
• In Khatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimekh, Karmana districts of Navoi region;
• In Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharaf Rashidov, Forish, Yangiabad districts of Jizzakh region;
• In Ohangaron, Bostonliq, Parkent, Piskent, Ortachirchik, Urenchirchik districts and Angren, Almaliq cities of Tashkent region;
• Namangan region in Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, Yangikurgan districts;
• In Sokh, Shahimardan, Fergana, Beshariq districts of Fergana region;
• Andijan region in Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduq, Korgontepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, Marhamat districts and Khanabad.
The message urges citizens residing in mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling through these regions to exercise caution and take necessary precautions.
