Uzhydromet warns residents of nine regions

Mudflows and flooding may occur in the foothill and mountainous areas of Uzbekistan due to expected rainfall on June 20-22 this year. Uzhydromet issued an urgent warning.
In particular, mudflows and flooding may occur in the following areas:
- Kashkadarya region: Yakkabog, Dekhkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shahrisabz, Kamashi and Guzar districts;
- Surkhandarya region: Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Shorchi, Kumkurgan and Muzrabot districts;
- Samarkand region: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurobod, Koshrabot, Kattakurgan, Payariq, Jomboy and Ishtikhon districts;
- Navoi region: Khatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimex and Karmana districts;
- Jizzakh region: Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish and Yangiobod districts;
- Tashkent region: Ohangaron, Bostonliq, Parkent, Piskent, Ortachirchiq and Yuqorichirchiq districts, as well as Angren and Almalyk cities;
- Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan and Yangikurgan districts;
- Fergana region: Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana and Beshariq districts;
- Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgontepa, Pakhtaobod, Izboskan, Khojaobod and Marhamat districts, as well as Khanabad city.
Uzhydromet urged residents of foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers and drivers to be cautious.
It was noted that in some regions of the country, heavy rainfall may also lead to the accumulation of rainwater and flooding of areas.
