Flood and mudslide warning issued in 8 regions of Uzbekistan

Uzhydromet has issued a warning about the risk of flooding and mudslides in the mountainous and foothill regions of Uzbekistan due to expected rainfall on April 25 and from April 27 to 30.

The warning applies to the following regions and districts:

Kashkadarya region: Yakkabag, Dehkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, Kamashi, Guzar;

Surkhandarya region: Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherabod, Shorchi, Kumkurgan, Muzrabod;

Samarkand region: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurabad, Kushrabot, Kattakurgan, Payarik, Jamboy, Ishtikhan;

Jizzakh region: Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, Yangiabad;

Tashkent region: Ahangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Piskent, Ortachirchik, Yukarichirchik districts, and the cities of Angren and Almalyk;

Namangan region: Pop, Kosansoy, Chortok, Chust, Namangan, Yangikurgan;

Fergana region: Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, Besharik;

Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Zhalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaobod, Izboskan, Khojaobod, Markhamat districts and the city of Honobod.

Residents living in or traveling through mountainous areas, as well as vacationers and drivers, are advised to take precautionary measures. Additionally, the accumulation of rainwater may lead to localized flooding across various areas of the country.

It should be recalled that a similar flood warning was previously issued for six regions of Uzbekistan.
