The amount of fine for violation of sanitary rules in Uzbekistan is increased

The Ministry of Justice reported that the country has raised the fines for breaching sanitary legislation, standards, and hygiene regulations.


The President signed a law introducing amendments to various legal documents. Under the revised Code of Administrative Responsibility, violations of sanitary laws and hygiene regulations will now result in:


•    Citizens facing fines of 5 to 10 times the Basic Calculation Amount, ranging from 1,650,000 to 3.3 million soums. Previously, the range was 1 to 3 times the Base Billing Amount.
•    Officials being fined from 15 to 20 times, equating to 4 million 950 thousand to 6.6 million soums. Previously, officials faced fines of 5 to 10 times the Base Billing Amount.


The law will come into effect three months after its official announcement.
