9432The 19th Asian Summer Games were held in the People's Republic of China from September 23 to October 8 this year. The Uzbek athletes who took part in it collected 22 gold, 18 silver, and 31 bronze medals, securing the 5th place overall.
In this regard, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the members of the sports delegation of Uzbekistan that participated in the 19th Asian Summer Games.
"In these competitions, where 11,000 athletes from 45 countries of the Asian continent participated, the members of our national team showed their incomparable skills, enthusiasm, perseverance, high desire, and will to win. The fact that they won 22 gold, 18 silver, and 31 bronze medals is highly commendable.
I consider it appropriate to note with special pleasure that 31 of our athletes won gold medals, and half of them were our girls.
The fact that 132 of our representatives won a total of 71 medals and recorded a record result compared to the previous Asian Games makes us all proud," the congratulatory text says.
The President recognized that the athletes of Uzbekistan secured the proud fifth place in the overall team rankings, surpassing developed countries in the field of sports such as Chinese Taipei, Bahrain, North Korea, Hong Kong, Iran, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Kuwait.
"Bahodir Jalolov, Jalgasbay Berdimuratov, Ulugbek Rashitov, Hasanboy Dosmatov, Abdumalik Khalakov, Diyora Keldiyorova, Takhmina Ikromova, Sevinch Rakhimova, Vilana Savadyan, Evelina Atalyans, who defended the honor of our country in the heated competitions. Sharifa Davronova, Safina Sadullayeva, Muzaffar Toraboyev, Olga Zabelinskaya, Shahmurad Kholmurodov, Nurislam Tokhtasin ugli, Umid Esonov, Artyom Shturbabin, Hilola Ortiqbayeva, Muhsin Hisomiddinov, Zainab Dayibekova, Pliyego Lara Maria Paola, Herrera Lara Luisa Fernanda, Guliston Perdebayeva, Anna Prakaten, Shehroz Hakimov, Dilshodjon Khudoiberdiyev, Davrjon Davronov, Alisher Turdiyev, Murodjon Yoldoshev, and other sports fans once again recognized the rare talent, skills, and abilities of our athletes.
Zainab Dayibekova, who has become the pride of Uzbek fencing sport, demonstrated her superiority in the saber team program, and Anvar Klevleyev demonstrated that she is stronger than most of her competitors in the slalom rowing competition.
Such achievements at the Asian Games are of great importance to us, and in this way, you have shown the world the glory of our national sports school and what great things the young people of Uzbekistan are capable of," said Mirziyoyev.
At the same time, the head of state expressed confidence that Uzbek athletes will reach great heights at the 33rd Olympic Games to be held in Paris in 2024.
