On January 21, a Boeing 767-300 operated by Uzbekistan Airways, en route from Tashkent to Vladivostok, made an emergency landing in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk, RIA Novosti reported.
According to the report, the aircraft, carrying 122 passengers and crew members, was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Krasnoyarsk International Airport named after Dmitry Hvorostovsky due to a technical issue. The landing was carried out safely and without incident. The aircraft has been temporarily withdrawn from service.
In addition, the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office reported that the Krasnoyarsk Transport Prosecutor’s Office is conducting oversight measures to ensure that passengers’ rights to receive the required services are upheld in connection with the flight delay.
The Krasnoyarsk Investigative Department of Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a preliminary inquiry under Article 263 of the Criminal Code, which concerns violations of air transport safety and operational regulations.
It is worth noting that earlier, Uzbekistan Airways flights were forced to return to their departure airports due to the temporary closure of Iranian airspace to all aircraft.
