In 1920, the permanent population of Uzbekistan was 4.4 million. As of January 1 this year, that number had grown to 37.5 million. Since 1920, the population of Uzbekistan has increased by 33.1 million people, according to the National Statistics Committee.

It should be noted that in November of last year, it was reported that Uzbekistan’s permanent population had surpassed 37.5 million, reaching 37,506,617 people. Of these, 18,843,325 are men, and 18,580,779 are women. Experts predict that by 2030, Uzbekistan’s population will reach 40 million, which would represent half of the population of Central Asia. Over the past 30 years, Uzbekistan’s population has grown by 15 million people, reflecting stable demographic trends. The average life expectancy in Uzbekistan stands at 74.3 years.
