Weather update: Precipitation and temperature drop expected in Uzbekistan

Uzhydromet has released a weather forecast for January 7-10, 2025, indicating that damp and cold air will enter Uzbekistan from the Caspian Sea starting tomorrow, January 7.

Precipitation in the form of rain and snow is expected in some areas of Bukhara and Navoi regions, as well as in the second half of the day in Tashkent, Samarkand, Jizzakh, and Syrdarya regions. In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, precipitation (rain and snow) is anticipated at night and in the morning. The remaining regions of the country will experience dry weather.

On January 8, snowfall will persist mainly in Tashkent, Samarkand, Jizzakh, Syrdarya regions, and parts of the Fergana Valley. By January 8 during the day, as well as January 9-10, precipitation-free weather is expected across the country, with the possibility of fog at night and in the early morning.

Between January 8-10, air temperatures are forecast to drop. Nighttime temperatures will decrease from 2-5°C to 3-6°C, while daytime temperatures will fall from 5-8°C to 0-3°C. Wind speeds will generally range from 7-12 m/s, with localized increases to 13-18 m/s on January 7, and gusts reaching 20-23 m/s in some areas.

In mountainous areas, intermittent snowfall is predicted from January 6-8, with heavier snow in certain regions on January 7-8.

For Tashkent, rainless weather will prevail from January 6-10, except for rain and snow on the evening of January 7 and the night of January 8. Fog is expected in some areas at night and in the morning. Wind speeds will reach 3-8 m/s, potentially increasing to 10-12 m/s on January 7.

- January 6: 8-10°C during the day
- January 7: 1-3°C at night, 6-8°C during the day
- January 8: −1 to 1°C (night and day)
- January 9: −3 to −5°C at night, 2-4°C during the day
- January 10: −3 to −5°C at night, 5-7°C during the day
