UNESCO expresses gratitude to Uzbekistan

During the 43rd session of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) General Conference, held in Samarkand from 30 October to 13 November 2025, delegations expressed deep gratitude to the people and government of Uzbekistan. This was reported by Ahror Burhonov, press secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Delegations praised the warm hospitality, cordial reception, and favorable conditions provided to ensure the successful conduct of the conference. They highlighted their satisfaction that the session was held in the beautiful city of Samarkand and commended the Uzbek government’s efforts to ensure the full participation of all member states, organized members, and observers. They also expressed sincere appreciation for President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s attention, unparalleled support, and personal involvement in the conference.
The high professional skill and dedication of Uzbek organizations and staff were noted as key factors in ensuring the smooth and productive progress of the conference.
The statement emphasized that Uzbekistan, as a country with an ancient civilization and rich cultural heritage, significantly contributed to fostering mutual understanding and a spirit of solidarity among delegations. UNESCO conveyed its confidence that the friendship, trust, and international cooperation with Uzbekistan would continue to strengthen in the future.
It is worth noting that on 12 November, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Khalid Al-Anani, who was elected as the new Director-General of UNESCO.
