In the Shahrikhan district of Andijan region, parents who tried to influence a teacher’s grading of their child have been fined. The news was reported by Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court.

According to reports, the parents, S.S. and G.S., visited the teacher's apartment and requested that he alter their child's grade. This action was deemed to interfere with the teacher's ability to assess the student’s knowledge impartially and to carry out his official duties.

The Shahrikhan District Court for Criminal Cases considered the case, and both parents were fined an administrative penalty of 7 times the basic calculation amount under Part 1 of Article 197-5 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, which addresses unlawful interference in a teacher's professional activities or obstruction of their duties.

Following this, M.N., the teacher who was recognized as the victim in the case, filed a lawsuit with the Bostan Interdistrict Court for Civil Cases. He sought compensation for material damage amounting to 3,325,000 sums and 3 million sums for moral damage caused by the parents' actions.

However, during the court hearing, the teacher stated that he had reached a settlement with the parents regarding the recovery of damages. As a result, the court accepted the withdrawal of the claim and issued a ruling to terminate the civil case.

In a related development, it was previously reported that efforts are being made to identify teachers with a tendency to use violence against children in Uzbekistan's educational institutions, with psychological support being offered to those in need.
