It is about time Transport Minister Makhkamov also wakes up - Mirziyoyev

All restrictions on flights and routes of foreign airlines have been lifted at Samarkand airport. This was announced today 19 September, at a meeting on the tourism industry chaired by the president.

«It's now time to wake up, Transport Minister Makhkamov», President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the meeting.

The Ministry of Transport will be mandated:

•    Inform the aviation authorities of all countries that all restrictions on flights and routes of foreign airlines at Samarkand airport have been lifted;

•    Reaching agreements with foreign airlines and launching at least 10 international flights per day from Europe, Asia, America, Arab countries and neighbouring countries to Samarkand;

•    launching at least 1 daily flight from Voda, Nukus, Urgench and Termez.

The executive was also mandated to approve the annual program of organizing international meetings and conferences in Samarkand within one month.

In general, it was pointed out that it was necessary to develop a separate draft decision on the use of new complexes in Samarkand and to provide for additional privileges and relaxations within five days.
