2 people detained in Tashkent for smuggling drugs from Tajikistan (video)

A citizen was detained in the Fergana region for storing powerful drugs worth 412 million soums in his home, as well as for transporting 967 grams of hashish in his car in Tashkent. This was reported by the State Security Service.

According to the report, officers of the Tashkent City Department of the State Security Service, in cooperation with the Customs Committee, conducted a special operation that stopped the circulation of narcotic drugs smuggled from the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the operation, a Cobalt vehicle driven by a resident of the Yunusabad district, born in 1983, was inspected in the presence of witnesses. As a result, 967 grams of hashish were found in the passenger compartment of the vehicle and seized in accordance with procedural regulations.

The operation was further expanded, leading to the detention of another individual born in 1985, identified as the driver’s accomplice. An additional 1 kilogram and 992 grams of hashish were seized from him.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the detainees under Article 28 (Types of Participants in a Crime), Part 2 of Article 246 (Smuggling), and Part 5 of Article 273 (Illegal Preparation, Acquisition, Storage, and Other Actions for the Purpose of Trafficking Narcotic Drugs, Their Analogues, or Psychotropic Substances, as well as Their Illegal Trafficking) of the Criminal Code. Both suspects have been placed under arrest as a preventive measure.

In a separate operation conducted by the Border Troops of the State Security Service and the Fergana Regional Department, in cooperation with the internal affairs and customs agencies, one of the houses in the Fergana district was searched in the presence of witnesses.

During the search, 6,880 units of the powerful drug Zardex were discovered in the possession of a man born in 1956. The substances were seized as material evidence.

According to preliminary information, the drugs had been imported from the Kyrgyz Republic via indirect routes and were intended for sale in Tashkent. Their total market value is estimated at 412 million soums.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect, and an investigation is ongoing.

It is worth noting that earlier, two brothers were detained in Bostanlyk for storing drugs and weapons in their home.
