More than 2,000 waste-related violations were committed in Tashkent

Over the past eight months, more than 2,000 violations related to waste management have been recorded in Tashkent, according to the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

The Ministry has indicated that district inspectors from the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change in Tashkent city are continuously monitoring and enforcing regulations to prevent illegal dumping of waste in unauthorized locations.

To date this year, the department has identified a total of 2,226 legal violations in the capital. Of these, 2,201 were committed by individuals, while 25 were perpetrated by legal entities.

Reports have been filed in accordance with the relevant articles of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. Fines totaling 994 million 650 thousand sums have been imposed on the offenders.

Furthermore, citizens are being informed about the prohibition against dumping waste in unmarked areas, as such actions lead to environmental pollution. The public is also advised that waste does not decompose quickly, causes environmental harm, and that illegal dumping is subject to legal penalties.
