61-year-old teacher arrested for sexually abusing student in Tashkent

A school teacher in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent was sentenced to 5 days in prison for sexually abusing a student by promising to marry her. QALAMPIR.UZ has read the court decision.

According to the court document, R.I., a 61-year-old physics teacher at secondary school No. 18 in the Mirzo Ulugbek district, sent a smiley to S.A., a minor born in 2008 and a 10th grader at the same school, on November 4, 2024, and on February 8, 2025, wrote a declaration of love in Russian on a test paper, saying "I love you."

He also asked the girl's classmates whether she had a boyfriend, followed her in other lessons, and repeatedly committed acts of a sexual nature against a minor student that were inappropriate and insulted her honor and dignity.

Yesterday, on May 2, the Mirzo Ulugbek District Criminal Court considered the case. The court found R.I. guilty of committing an offense under Part 1 of Article 411 (sexual harassment) of the Code of Administrative Offenses and sentenced him to 5 days of administrative detention.

It should be recalled that earlier, a teacher in the Sergeli district of Tashkent was sentenced to 5 days of imprisonment for sexual harassment of a student.
