In a recent survey, 38% of entrepreneurs expressed a desire to receive resources based on Islamic finance. This was announced today, August 20, during an open dialogue between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and entrepreneurs in Nukus.
Last month, microfinance organizations were given permission to provide services based on Islamic finance principles.
Reports indicate that if the new draft law is adopted, banks will also be able to operate under Islamic finance. This move is expected to stimulate the introduction of new financial services, attract many investors, and create an additional resource pool of $5 billion.
