Additional payment for electricity and gas exceeding the limit for entrepreneurs will be reduced by 10 times

The extra charges imposed on entrepreneurs for exceeding the limits on electricity and natural gas consumption will be reduced by ten times. This is outlined in the Presidential Decree "On Measures to Implement the Tasks Set in the Fourth Open Dialogue of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with Entrepreneurs," adopted on August 30.
According to the decree, the following actions were approved as part of the five-direction program of the President's open dialogue with entrepreneurs in 2024:
A list of draft legislative documents to be developed;
A practical action plan.
Additionally, starting from November 1, 2024:
- All commercial banks and microfinance organizations will be involved in supporting small and medium-sized business entities based on state programs;
- Commercial banks and microfinance organizations will be allowed to increase the number of unsecured microloans from 100 million soums to 300 million soums for small businesses under the "Continuous Support of Small Business" program, implemented based on the Presidential decision while maintaining the procedure for refinancing or providing guarantees for these loans using their resources.
Furthermore, by November 1, 2024, it will become easier for entrepreneurs to make advance payments for electricity and natural gas, increase contractual limits on consumption, and in cases of exceeding these limits, the additional charges for excess electricity and natural gas consumption will be reduced by at least ten times.
