Fire in Surkhandarya forests extinguished with helicopters and drones (video)

On June 18, a fire that had spread across 3 hectares of land in the Boysun district of the Surkhandarya region was successfully extinguished with the help of helicopters and drones. This was reported by the press service of the regional administration.

According to the report, the fire broke out on June 17 at 17:45 in the area adjacent to the juniper groves of the Kengdala forestry department in Boysun district. The Surkhandarya regional fire department promptly received the alert and dispatched fire and rescue crews to the scene.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of emergency services and local volunteers, the fire was fully extinguished by 07:10 on June 18, preventing its spread to a larger area.

In total, 85 personnel from the regional Federal Fire Department and 4 vehicles took part in the operation. Additionally, 40 employees from the Forestry Department with 4 vehicles, 6 officers from the Internal Affairs Department, 20 military personnel and a military helicopter from the Ministry of Defense, as well as 40 local volunteers, were involved in extinguishing the fire.

Unmanned aerial vehicles belonging to the Border Troops were also used to monitor the fire’s location and assist with containment efforts.

It is worth noting that, earlier, Uzcosmos, based on satellite space monitoring, reported that 1,605.4 hectares of land had already burned across Uzbekistan by this point in June.
