16334Ulugbek Kasimov, the governor of the Surkhandarya region, allocated a total of 661 million sums to reward his deputies and district governors. The bonuses were issued through an official order signed by the governor himself.
Initially, the order was accessible on the e-qaror.gov.uz platform. However, following its circulation on social media, the document was concealed, reportedly due to concerns about the inclusion of personal data, patronage details, or other restricted information under current legislation.
The order detailed the distribution of funds:
- 201.25 million sums were granted to seven regional deputy governors for their achievements, in recognition of Defenders of the Fatherland Day on January 14.
- 28.75 million sums were allocated to the regional deputy governor responsible for family and women's issues.
- 431.25 million sums were distributed among the governors (mayors) of Termez city and various districts.
The implementation of the governor’s order was assigned to Sherzod Rajabov, the first deputy governor responsible for finance, economy, and poverty reduction.
This incident comes on the heels of another controversial bonus allocation. The governor of Yashnabad district in Tashkent, Bakhtiyor Rahmonkulov, recently awarded himself 61.875 million sums after declaring his sector the winner of the “Most Initiative Sector” nomination. The funds were taken from the local budget as a reward for overachieving local revenue targets.
