According to the report, a Lacetti passenger vehicle driven by a citizen entering the country through the “Malik” border customs post of the Sirdarya regional customs administration was inspected in accordance with established procedures.

During the inspection, customs officers identified three types of coffee products packaged in 8-gram and 10-gram sachets concealed among the cargo. It was determined that the driver was attempting to transport a total of 2,258 units of these biologically active supplements across the border in exchange for $200.

According to an expert conclusion by the Central Customs Laboratory, the products were found to contain “Sibutramine,” a potent substance whose circulation is restricted in Uzbekistan. Even possession of as little as half a gram of this substance may result in criminal liability.

A criminal case has been initiated by customs authorities in connection with the incident.

It is worth noting that earlier, narcotic drugs were discovered in a shipment sent from Kyrgyzstan to the Fergana region.
