Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the world is threatened by food shortages due to severe climate change and drought in many countries.
“You can see that because of the disruption of global production chains, logistics issues caused by international situation, many countries are imposing restrictions on food exports.
Governors (khokims) of regions, districts, and cities should calculate their capacities to fully meet domestic demand and increase exports in such conditions.
"However, many governors still do not understand this," - the head of state said at the beginning of his speech.
It is noted that this year 80 thousand hectares of land were cut from the cultivation of cotton and grain and distributed to the population. According to the decision signed today by the president, 20,000 hectares of arable land will be distributed to the population by the end of the year. Next year, 100,000 hectares of arable land will be selectively allocated to the population. This will create conditions of employment for 1 million 200 thousand residents.
