Massive illegal drug operation discovered in Samarkand region (video)

Authorities in Kattakorgan district, Samarkand region, have detained an 85-year-old man for illegally cultivating 511 cannabis plants in his yard, according to the regional Department of Internal Affairs.
During the “Safe and Healthy Nation” rapid prevention operation, law enforcement officers from Kattakorgan district’s search and criminal investigation divisions, in collaboration with the State Security Service, conducted an inspection in Moybuloq neighborhood, revealing 500 grams of dried narcotics stored at the suspect’s residence.
Further investigation uncovered that the individual had been growing and maintaining 511 cannabis plants in his personal agricultural plot. Authorities have documented the incident, and the district investigation unit has launched official proceedings.
The collected evidence is now under review, with law enforcement conducting further inquiries into the suspect’s activities.
Previously, in Urgut district, Samarqand, officers arrested a 68-year-old man previously convicted of narcotics trafficking, after he was caught engaging in the same illegal trade once again.
