8354Uzbek citizens accused of burning down a club in Russia after being denied entry and attempting to kill the guards were sentenced to 10 and 11 years in prison. This was reported by the Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The evidence gathered by the Investigative Department for the Kirov district of Ufa was found by the court to be sufficient to convict the two Uzbek citizens.
The two individuals were found guilty of criminal offenses under Article 105, Part 2, Clauses "b", "d", "e", "j" and Article 30, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which pertains to attempted murder with particular cruelty, in a publicly dangerous manner, and by a group of persons conspiring in advance. They were sentenced to 10 and 11 years in a strict regime colony. Additionally, they were ordered to pay 200,000 rubles in moral damages to the victim.
The investigation revealed that on the night of September 28, 2023, the two Uzbek citizens, who were reportedly intoxicated, were denied entry to a nightclub by the security guards. In retaliation, they returned to the scene after filling a tank with gasoline from a gas station. They doused one of the security guards and the club with the flammable liquid and set them on fire. Fortunately, the employees and guests managed to escape to safety, and the fire was extinguished. After the crime, the suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended by police at Ufa airport with tickets to Moscow.
