At the same time as a meeting of the video selector chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the measures to develop entrepreneurship and industry in order to ensure employment of the population, it was reported that in today’s difficult situation, illegal connections to electricity and natural gas networks are occuring and thefts continue.  It was noted that it is outrageous that the leaders are indifferent and complicit.  Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov provided information about this.

Almost 3,000 cases like this have been detected since the beginning of December, and 1,500 in the last two days.  In particular, many of them in Fergana (617), Andijan (325), Samarkand (252), Namangan (220), Syrdarya (218), and Tashkent (269).

For example, 8 million kilowatts of electricity were stolen, which is equivalent to the monthly consumption of 41,000 courtyard houses in the autumn-winter season.

At the same time, it was found that 11.5 million cubic meters of natural gas, equivalent to the monthly consumption of 19,000 households, were used illegally.

Last week, 110 tons of coal was illegally sold in Namangan and 22 tons in Karakalpakstan.

“What are the governors, prosecutors, internal affairs agencies of these regions busy with?” asked the President.

The governors of the region were harshly criticized for not going to the boiler house, gas and coal distribution stations, car park, and electricity networks and not seeing the works with their own eyes, rather they abandoned these works.
