President offers new relief to university applicants

Applicants who did not gain admission to any of their five chosen universities but have scores matching an incomplete program at another university can now enroll there. This announcement was made today, August 8, during an expanded meeting on university graduate employment chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“We have given applicants the opportunity to select five universities. This is a significant step forward for higher education. We plan to expand this opportunity further,” the president said.
Under the new arrangement, if applicants fail to enter any of their five selected universities but meet the score requirements for an incomplete program at another institution, the rector of that university may admit them on a contract basis.
Officials emphasized that this measure will foster competition between public and private universities.
