Cobalt hit and dragged 9-year-old boy in Parkent (video)

Reports have circulated on social media claiming that a 9-year-old boy died in a traffic accident in the Parkent district, Tashkent region. The Regional Road Traffic Safety Department has provided an official statement on the incident.

According to the department, the accident occurred at around 11:00 am on October 18 of this year at the 57th kilometer of the D-015 ’’Qiziltog – Parkent – Yangi Bozor’’ highway. A Cobalt vehicle driven by a 39-year-old man, H.D., hit Sh.M., born in 2016, who was running across a pedestrian crossing. As a result, the child sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalized at the district central hospital. His condition is currently stable, and he is receiving treatment.

The Road Traffic Safety Department emphasized that claims on social media alleging that the child had died are completely unfounded and do not correspond to reality.

It was also noted that a Damas driver, K.H., born in 1992, was registered as another participant in the accident. The Parkent district police department is conducting a pre-investigation inquiry into the case.

It is worth noting that earlier, a Cobalt car that veered into the opposite lane collided with a Nexia, resulting in the death of one person in the Surkhandarya region.
