Between January-September of this year, despite spending billions and holding investment forums, investment activity decreased in the capital city of Tashkent.  This was reported by the State Statistics Committee.

The committee disclosed the growth rate and volume of total fixed capital investments by regions from January-September.  According to this:

Syrdarya region - 127.6% (8.5 trillion soms)
Samarkand region - 122.5% (15.6 trillion soms)
Karakalpakstan R. – 118.9% (7.1 trillion soms)
Andijan region - 114.6% (9.7 trillion soms)
Fergana region - 112.4% (10.7 trillion soms)
Khorezm region - 108.7% (6.8 trillion soms)
Jizzakh region - 106.9% (7.5 trillion soms)
Navoi region - 105.9% (13 trillion soms)
Tashkent region - 102.4% (23 trillion soms)
Namangan region - 102.0% (10.3 trillion soms)
Surkhandarya region - 100.6% (8.5 trillion soms)
Bukhara region - 98.5% (15.8 trillion soms)
Tashkent city - 97.6% (41.1 trillion soms)
Kashkadarya region - 96.0% (11.7 trillion soms)
