Admission timeline for higher educational institutions is announced

The admission processes for applicants to higher educational institutions for the 2024/2025 academic year will commence on June 5. This timeline was established by a decree from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at enhancing the admission system and managing state orders for higher education institutions.

Beginning with the 2024/2025 academic year, entrance exams for state higher and professional educational institutions (excluding vocational schools) will follow the "test first, then selection" principle. This process includes:

• Applicants will compete for admission to undergraduate courses at higher education institutions and then to professional educational institutions based on the scores they achieve on the tests, according to their preferences.
• The admission process for bachelor’s degrees at public higher education institutions will occur in two stages:
• In the first stage, applicants must register for the test from June 5 to June 25 each year. They will specify the subject areas for the test, the language of instruction, and the test location. If the entrance exams include a professional (creative) exam, applicants will choose the country where the exam will be held and select a higher education institution. The relevant ministries (departments), in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, will approve the programs and evaluation criteria for these professional (creative) exams.
• Admission exams will be conducted in July and August.
• In the second stage, within 15 days after the tests are completed, applicants will select a higher education institution, a bachelor's course of study, and a form of education.
