“Mavlono” cemetery catches fire in Namangan

Today, May 16, reports on social media indicated that the “Mavlono” cemetery in Namangan region had been set on fire. In response, the regional Emergency Situations Department issued a statement.

According to reports, at 14:56 local time the Yangi Namangan district Emergency Situations Department received notification that the dried vegetation in the “Mavlono” cemetery—located on Kozgu Street in the “Istiqbol” neighborhood —was burning. Based on this information, the fire and rescue team arrived at 15:09 and managed to extinguish the fire by 15:29.

It is reported that, as a result, an area of 50 square meters within the cemetery was damaged.

It is worth noting that previously a fire had broken out at the wagon repair depot on Turkiston Street in Tashkent’s Mirobod district.
