President of Mongolia will come to Uzbekistan

The President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan in June. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is noted that the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Mongolia took place on May 7 in Ulaanbaatar. The delegations of the parties were headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Amartuvshin Gombosuren.

"During the negotiations, the current state of Uzbekistan-Mongolia cooperation and prospects for its further development were discussed. Special attention was paid to the acceleration of the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, as well as the state visit of the President of Mongolia to Uzbekistan in June of this year.

It was noted that the Mongolian side highly appreciated the large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan regarding the improvement of public administration and legislation, liberalization, and modernization of the national economy.

At the meeting, mutual interest in the realization of the existing significant potential for strengthening cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres was confirmed.

"Proposals on the activation of cultural-humanitarian and touristic exchanges were considered. "Also, they exchanged views on current aspects of international and regional politics," said the statement of the MFA.

For information, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh has been the President of Mongolia since June 2021. In September 2022, he came to Samarkand to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and met with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Also, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Mongolia met in the UAE on December 1 last year.
