President Mirziyoyev’s visit to Europe concludes

The official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Belgium has come to an end, the presidential press service reported.
During his stay in Brussels, the head of state held productive talks with the President of the European Council, António Costa, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and King Philippe of Belgium.

President Mirziyoyev also attended the signing ceremony of the historic Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union. This document establishes a new, comprehensive legal framework to expand and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, primarily in the fields of trade and investment.

In addition, the president met with executives of leading European companies and financial institutions to discuss prospects for implementing new joint projects in key sectors.
It was also announced that bilateral negotiations between Uzbekistan and the European Union regarding Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization had been concluded during the visit.
Following the completion of all events in the program, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Tashkent.
