Today, July 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a citizens' assembly in the "Yangi Kamolon" neighborhood of the Shaykhantohur district in Tashkent. The visit was reported by the Presidential Press Service.

During his visit, the President was briefed on the activities of the "Reforms Headquarters" operating in the Shaykhantohur district.

“Craftsmanship has been a tradition in Shaykhantohur since ancient times. Even today, it remains the main source of employment and income for residents. Therefore, using Shaykhantohur as an example, we will implement a new action plan to develop the service sector,” said President Mirziyoyev.

The Yangi Kamolon neighborhood is home to more than 4,600 residents. Over 60 trade and service businesses operate in the area, offering employment to many young people. In 2025, a handicraft center, farm produce and confectionery shops, a bakery, and a private medical center were launched. As a result, the neighborhood has achieved zero unemployment.

According to the press service, no crimes have been committed in the neighborhood so far this year. This outcome was attributed to the establishment of a situation center under the neighborhood inspector aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing violations. The center is connected to security programs of the internal affairs system and receives data from surveillance cameras installed in apartment building corridors.

While speaking with residents gathered on a porch, the Head of State said:

“In recent years, many enterprises have opened, and the economy is growing. At the same time, our youth are also developing. We must think now about their education, health, and employment. That’s why this year we are investing $8 billion in Tashkent. As a result, new jobs, educational institutions, and infrastructure projects will appear in Shaykhantohur,” said the President.

As a reminder, earlier today, the President also inspected Bunyodkor Street in Tashkent, which has been transformed into a 24-hour service zone.
