Mirziyoyev arrives in Turkmenistan

On August 22, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit at the invitation of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the national leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, the presidential press service reported.

At the airport in Turkmenbashi, the head of state was welcomed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguli Ataguliyev and other officials.

During his visit, the President of Uzbekistan will take part in a trilateral meeting in the “Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan–Uzbekistan” format and hold bilateral talks. According to the agenda, the meeting will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone and will focus on expanding multilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and economics, transport and communications, energy, and humanitarian affairs. Several joint documents are expected to be signed.
