Today, on August 5, a solemn ceremony of presenting the Order of Turkmenistan “For Contribution to the Development of Cooperation” to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took place within the framework of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This was reported by the press service of the President.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed deep gratitude to the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow and the fraternal Turkmen people for the high state award.

“I accept this award as a recognition of special attention and respect for Uzbekistan and its multinational people, as well as our common efforts to strengthen relations of friendship, good neighborliness, mutual trust and partnership in the Central Asian region,” the President said.

It was also noted with satisfaction that a high level of Uzbek-Turkmen strategic partnership relations, based on rich historical experience, traditions of brotherhood and mutual respect, has been achieved. It was noted that in recent years, important economic and humanitarian projects have been implemented, the volume of mutual trade and the scale of cooperation have increased sharply.

The leader of Uzbekistan emphasized that the leaders of "Arkadağ" and all the countries of the region are making a great contribution to promoting cooperation in Central Asia. It was noted that today the entire international community recognizes the common successes in building a new model of regional partnership and identity.

In conclusion, the head of state once again expressed gratitude for the high award, congratulated the fraternal Turkmen people on the UN conference taking place these days, and wished the successful holding of the global summit in Ashgabat in December of this year as part of the International Year of Peace and Trust.

For information, the Order "For Contribution to the Development of Cooperation" was established on September 30, 2017. The award is awarded to prominent state and public figures of foreign countries for their outstanding services in strengthening peace, friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between peoples, as well as to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation of Turkmenistan with foreign countries. To date, 4 foreign statesmen have been awarded the order. Among them are the President of Russia Vladimir Putin (October 1, 2017) and the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan (November 29, 2021), the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko (May 12, 2022) and the Chairperson of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Sohiba Gafarova (December 8, 2022).

It is also worth noting that the President of Uzbekistan has also been awarded prestigious medals and orders of foreign countries. Including the Order of Danaker of the Kyrgyz Republic (November 22, 2017), the Order of Friendship of the Republic of Kazakhstan (March 14, 2018), the Order of Alexander Nevsky of the Russian Federation (September 15, 2022), and the Order of the Legion of Honor of the French Republic (March 13, 2025).
