Today the 18 October, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the state unitary enterprise "ToshkentboshplanLITI" and got acquainted with the Master plan project for the city of Tashkent until 2045.

"Tashkent is our great capital, the biggest city in our country.  In the last five years, we have created conditions for investment and entrepreneurs, new houses and modern facilities have been built.  This is also necessary, if we don't think about the future and clearly define the strategy, it will be difficult to live in the city in the next ten years.  The infrastructure will not bear the additional pressure.  We have no right to make mistakes now.  If we don't start the project 50 years ago, taking into account the amenities that should be created for the people, the city will not have good architecture, economy, or ecology," – the President said.

Today, the territory of the city of Tashkent is 43 thousand hectares, the population is almost 3 million.  The burden on infrastructure networks has increased.  The number of vehicles is increasing day by day, and traffic is becoming more difficult. Dust and smoke have a negative impact on the environment.

Therefore, the President paid special attention to this issue and set the task of preserving the architectural image of the capital and making future constructions outside the city.  In particular, last year, at the opening ceremony of the "New Uzbekistan" park and at a meeting with Tashkent voters, it was said that a concept was being prepared in this regard.

It is noted that since it is related to the future of the capital, this issue was approached seriously and carefully.  Foreign and local designers worked at the "ToshkentboshplanLITI" enterprise for two years.  Population growth, transport and engineering sectors, and climate changes were analyzed, based on which, a strategy for the development of transport nodes and settlements was developed.

During the visit, the President was informed about this strategy.

One of the planned works is that the cadastre of Tashkent city will be digitized and the categories of regions will be openly recorded.  Residents will be able to easily see the location of their neighborhood or the area where entrepreneurs want to open a business via the internet.

To solve the problem of traffic congestion, public transport will be facilitated.  For this, it is necessary to have a stop within a 15-minute walk from the resident's house.  Also, on the basis of the "Park and ride" principle, parking lots are established on the outskirts of the city and connected to public transport stations.

Another important measure is setting social requirements for buildings. For example, if a multi-storey building is to be built in the city, depending on its type, standards such as school, kindergarten, household services, parking space, and greening area are set.

The project of the Master Plan of the city of Tashkent until 2045 was prepared in accordance with the "New Tashkent" concept.  This new city will be built in the eastern part of the capital, between Chirchik and Karasuv rivers.  It will be intended for 500,000 inhabitants.

Based on this, promising development and construction areas, and schemes of main roads connecting the capital with the new city were developed.  In the first stage, it is planned to launch the construction works in 6 thousand hectares.

Going green is very important in today's global warming world. Today, there are 7 thousand of hectares of green spaces in the city of Tashkent.  Based on the nationwide project "Green Space" put forward by the President, special attention is paid to it in the draft General Plan.  In particular, it is planned to create a "green belt" around the big ring road, to organize thematic parks along the canals passing through the city.  In general, it is aimed to increase green areas in the capital to 25 thousand hectares.

"Our strategy for the development of the city was also approved by the world's leading experts.  Now it is necessary to take the people's opinion on each place and build it intelligently and with quality.  This new city must be worthy of our people, suitable for our climate, and modern," says Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It was emphasized the need to attract young professionals to this huge project, build their experience, and develop the architecture of districts and cities proportionately. Therefore, instructions were given to open design centers in other cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Kokand, and Namangan.

The projects of reconstruction of the State Museum of Applied Arts and Crafts History of Uzbekistan and modernization of the architectural image of the center of Denov district of Surkhondarya region were also presented.
