Today, August 26, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Samarkand, as reported by the President's press service.

The visit began with a trip to the tomb of Imam Bukhari, where the Kuran was recited and prayers were offered.

"We are on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of our country's independence. May God preserve our independence and bless our nation. May God support us in our efforts to serve our people. Our goal in building this complex is to honor the legacy of our forefather Imam Bukhari," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Imam Bukhari complex is being reconstructed under the President's initiative. The mausoleum now spans 600 square meters, and its height has been extended to 28 meters. A mosque with a capacity of 10,000 people has been constructed. The 75-meter towers at the four corners of the complex add to its grandeur. With construction and engineering work completed, the finishing touches are now underway. Special attention is being given to national traditions and warm colors in the design.

The President reviewed the construction and finishing works, emphasizing the importance of introducing modern and safe management practices within the complex.

"This complex should serve as a great moral pillar," said the President.

Officials were instructed to restore sacred shrines in all districts and cities and to ensure their history and significance were accurately conveyed.

The complex will also include a museum, decorative verandas, and administrative, and service buildings. The President also inspected the plans for the future museum.
