Mirziyoyev and First Lady pay an official visit to Slovenia

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his wife arrived in Ljubljana on May 21 for an official visit at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar. The visit was reported by the presidential press service.

Upon arrival at Jože Pučnik International Airport, the Uzbek leader was welcomed by Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tanja Fajon, along with other senior officials. In honor of the high-level guest, the national flags of both countries were raised, and an honor guard was lined up.

According to the visit agenda, President Mirziyoyev will hold talks with President Pirc Musar, as well as meetings with the leadership of the Slovenian parliament and government. He is also set to participate in a joint business forum.

The sides will discuss a wide range of issues aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation. Key topics include joint projects in industry, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, renewable energy, and agriculture, as well as expanding collaboration in labor migration and humanitarian exchanges.

It is worth noting that prior to arriving in Slovenia, President Mirziyoyev visited Hungary on May 19. On May 20, he held official talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in both narrow and expanded formats, and met with the Speaker of the National Assembly, László Kövér, along with the heads of leading Hungarian banks and companies.

On May 21, the Uzbek president also participated in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States, where he proposed several important initiatives to enhance multifaceted cooperation among member countries.
