Today, July 8, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
During the conversation, the leaders discussed the development of strategic and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Russia. Particular attention was given to the implementation of high-level agreements, especially in the trade and economic spheres.
"The importance of continuing active mutual support and practical interdepartmental cooperation to achieve record trade turnover, promote industrial collaboration in various sectors of the economy, and develop strong and effective partnerships was emphasized," the report noted.
In this context, the two sides stressed the need for thorough preparation for an upcoming high-level meeting scheduled for this fall, which is of mutual significance to both Uzbekistan and Russia.
The presidents also exchanged views on the administrative agenda and upcoming bilateral initiatives.
Additionally, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan-Russia cooperation, including plans to meet on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Union summit in Minsk.
