Mirziyoyev and Putin strengthen strategic ties in phone discussion

On May 3, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a statement from the Uzbek Presidential Press Service.
During their discussion, the two leaders addressed key issues related to strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.
They reviewed the implementation of agreements reached during Putin’s state visit to Uzbekistan in May of last year and emphasized the importance of maintaining trade exchange rates, accelerating cooperation projects in priority economic sectors, and continuing active dialogue at the regional and business levels. Both sides agreed to adopt coordinated measures to facilitate these developments.
"The leaders also praised the success of business events held in Tashkent during the fifth "Innoprom. Central Asia" international industrial exhibition.
Further, they welcomed the expanding humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, particularly in culture, arts, science, education, sports, and tourism," the report states.
Mirziyoyev and Putin exchanged views on international issues and discussed plans for upcoming meetings between the two countries.
