Mirziyoyev Will Participate in the “Central Asia - European Union” Summit

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is scheduled to embark on a business visit to the Kyrgyz Republic on the 2nd of June.  The purpose of this visit is to participate in a high-level meeting known as the "Central Asia - European Union" summit.  Notable attendees will include regional leaders and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.

The agenda for the summit encompasses various significant issues.  First and foremost, the focus will be on advancing constructive dialogue and expanding practical cooperation between the Central Asian countries and the European Union.  Additionally, topics such as increasing bilateral trade through the utilization of the GSP+ system, establishing favorable conditions for investment and innovation projects, promoting green energy initiatives, leveraging the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, fostering digital interconnection, enhancing collaboration in areas like ecology, tourism, and culture, and other pertinent subjects will be addressed.

Apart from the summit proceedings, a number of bilateral meetings between participating nations are also scheduled.  It is worth mentioning that the inaugural regional meeting under this format took place on 27th of October 2022, in Astana.
