18087Today, 24 February, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the Higher Military Aviation Academy in Karshi and had lunch with the cadets. He watched military aviation flights with the participation of attack, fighter, transport planes, and combat helicopters.
This educational institution was established in 1994 in Jizzakh. However, there were not enough facilities for future pilots to practice there.
In 2018, when the head of state was at the Khanabad military airfield in the Karshi district, he made suggestions on the effective use of the capabilities of this airfield for the training of military pilots. Based on this, the higher military aviation educational institution was moved to the city of Karshi in 2019. Educational and training buildings were equipped with modern simulators, equipment, and information technologies.
This allows cadets to conduct military aircraft control and maintenance training at the Khanabad airfield, and to participate directly in training ranges. Flight training centers and information-resource centers, training laboratories for 4 specializations serve to increase the level of professionalism of military pilots.
A cultural center with 120 seats, a dormitory with 400 seats, a kitchen, a training ground, and a sports camp is at the disposal of cadets. Currently, 276 cadets are studying here.
The president inspected the conditions in the institution. In the conversation with young people, the importance of studying foreign languages and modern technologies, in addition to one's specialty was emphasized.
"The defense of every country shows its strength. Defense is provided by educated, intelligent, strong-willed soldiers, engineers, and pilots like you. To be worthy of this, you should always study, work on yourself and become perfect in all aspects," says Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief had lunch with the cadets in the canteen of the school. He saw sports and educational activities. Military aviation flights with the participation of attack, fighter, transport planes, and combat helicopters were demonstrated over the educational institution.
Officials were instructed to raise air defense to a new level based on the dangers observed in the world and to start collecting unmanned aerial vehicles as an experiment. It was emphasized that it is necessary to improve the activities of this educational institution accordingly, to implement joint educational programs with foreign institutions.
