Mirziyoyev strongly condemns Israel's attack on Qatar

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a telephone conversation today, September 12, with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during which he strongly condemned the recent missile strikes by Israel on Qatar’s capital, Doha.
At the beginning of the conversation, Mirziyoyev reiterated his strong condemnation of Israel’s missile strikes on Doha. He stressed that such unacceptable actions, which violate the independence and sovereignty of Qatar and threaten its security, are in direct contradiction with the Charter of the United Nations, as well as the basic norms and principles of international law.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan opposes any form of the use of force in international relations and any steps that may further aggravate the situation in the Middle East.
The President of Uzbekistan also wished success in holding the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit convened at Qatar’s initiative.
For his part, the Emir of Qatar expressed deep gratitude for the solidarity and support demonstrated by Uzbekistan.
During the conversation, the sides also discussed pressing issues of the Uzbekistan-Qatar strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation, including the continuation of active political contacts and mutually agreed measures to accelerate joint projects between leading companies of the two countries.
