President Mirziyoyev to visit Qatar

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Qatar on November 3–4 at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to attend the Second World Summit on Social Development. The news was reported by the presidential press service.

During the summit, discussions will focus on addressing existing disparities in socio-economic development, reaffirming commitment to the goals and principles of the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development, and accelerating progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

Special attention will be given to strengthening international cooperation, improving national strategies, and implementing comprehensive measures aimed at enhancing the resilience, social justice, and inclusiveness of societies.

According to the presidential press service, the World Summit on Social Development serves as an important platform for constructive dialogue among governments, international and regional organizations, United Nations structures, civil society institutions, experts, and business circles.

The main goal of the forum is to intensify global efforts to eradicate poverty, promote full and productive employment, ensure decent working conditions, and expand social integration in the context of modern challenges and interdependence.

At the conclusion of the summit, participants are expected to adopt the Doha Declaration, aimed at further strengthening international partnerships and developing coordinated approaches to achieve sustainable and inclusive social progress.

It is worth noting that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on July 7 of this year.
