What was discussed on the phone call between the Mirziyoyev and the President of the UAE?

Today, on 11 March, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.  This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.

Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated the President of the UAE on his birthday and wished him good health and happiness, great success in statehood, and peace and prosperity to the friendly people of this country.

In the conversation, prospects for further expansion of multifaceted cooperation, first of all, trade, investments, innovation and high technologies, “green” energy, agriculture, logistics and transport, were discussed.

It was noted with satisfaction that Uzbekistan-UAE relations have been developing rapidly in recent years.  The volume of mutual trade doubled last year.  240 joint ventures are operating in Uzbekistan, the project portfolio has exceeded 3 billion dollars.

It was noted that both countries are interested in the implementation of new cooperation projects in the fields of petrochemical, food industry, infrastructure development, mining and metallurgical sectors, as well as expanding financial and technical cooperation and cultural and humanitarian exchange programs.

“The phone conversation between the leaders of Uzbekistan and the UAE took place in an open, sincere and friendly spirit as always,” the report said.
