Mirziyoyev meets with Ilham Aliyev

Today, on November 15, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the seventh Consultation Meeting of Central Asian leaders, the press service of the Uzbek President reported.
At the beginning of the conversation, Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to President Mirziyoyev for the invitation to participate in the consultation meeting.

The President of Uzbekistan, in turn, sincerely congratulated the people of Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev on the fifth anniversary of Victory Day, celebrated on November 8 this year.
During his state visit to Azerbaijan in July, President Mirziyoyev discussed the implementation of agreements reached between the two countries, focusing on further developing and strengthening the Uzbek–Azerbaijani strategic partnership and alliance relations.
’’Effective exchanges continue at all levels. Since the beginning of this year, trade turnover has increased by 15 percent. Joint industrial cooperation projects in sectors such as automotive, energy, tourism, and others have entered an active phase.’’ the report noted.

The leaders also reviewed the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings and events.
For reference, on November 15–16, the seventh Consultation Meeting of Central Asian leaders, chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will be held in Tashkent.
It is worth noting that earlier, at the invitation of President Mirziyoyev, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Tashkent on an official visit to participate as an honorary guest in the consultation meeting. The high-ranking guest was welcomed at Tashkent–Humo International Airport by Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and other officials.
